Poseidoneio Diagnostic Medical Center’s Biopathology Department is equipped with advanced technology and staffed by experienced professionals.

The department performs a wide range of biopathological tests using state-of-the-art analyzers and reagents. Daily quality checks are conducted through both internal and accredited external controls to ensure accuracy.

Test results are thoroughly evaluated by medical staff, considering patient history and information stored in the diagnostic center’s records.

BIOCHEMISTRY DEPARTMENT
  • The department performs a coprehensive range of Biochemistry assessments, including tests for diabetes management, cholesterol and lipid profiles, kidney and liver function, anemia, cardiac and muscle function.
  • The department offers testing for all biological fluids (i.e. urine cultures, semen analysis,vaginal fluid cultures, stool analysis).
  • Επίσης εκτελούνται εξετάσεις όπως, αναζήτηση μυκήτων από δερματικές βλάβες , παρασίτολογική κοπράνων καθώς και πιο εξειδικευμένες εξετάσεις όπως ανίχνευση τοξινών κλωστηριδίων , ποσοτικός προσδιορισμός καλπροτεκτίνης, ανίχνευση βακίλλων B-KOCH, αντισώματα για τοξόπλασμα.

The Department at Poseidoneio Medical Diagnostic Center offers a comprehensive range of antibody testing for viral infections. These include: Hepatitis (A,B,C,D), Herpesvirus (HSV), Infectious Mononucleosis (EBV), Cytomegalovirus (CMV), HIV, H1N1 influenza virus, SARS-CoV-2 (COVID-19) and more.

  • Complete Blood Count (CBC): Basic blood analysis to evaluate overall health and detect disorders. Coagulation Testing: Prothrombin Time (PT-INR),Activated Partial Thromboplastin Time (APTT).
  • Test results are delivered within a few hours, ensuring timely monitoring and adjustment of therapeutic treatments.
  • The Hormonal Testing Department provides comprehensive hormonal evaluations aimed at the early detection of hormonal imbalances. Key tests include: Thyroid Function Tests, Gynecological Hormones,Reproductive Hormones
    • The Immunology Department offers a full spectrum of immunological tests for the detection and monitoring of autoimmune diseases and related conditions like Rheumatoid Arthritis, Scleroderma, Collagen Diseases, Systemic Lupus Erythematosus (SLE) and Celiac Disease Antibodies.
     
     
  • The laboratories at Poseidoneio Diagnostic Medical Center provide specialized testing for drug level monitoring such as Phenytoin (Epanutin), Lithium, Amiodarone. Also it offers urine screening and detection for the presence of various substances including: Benzodiazepines, Cannabinoids, Opiates, Cocaine
  • The laboratories perform a comprehensive range of tumor marker tests for the early diagnosis and treatment monitoring of cancer. These include common Tumor Markers: CEA (Carcinoembryonic Antigen), CA-125, CA-19.9, PSA (Prostate-Specific Antigen) including the free PSA/PSA ratio for better diagnostic accuracy.
  • Specialized Tumor Markers: Chromogranin A, NSE (Neuron-Specific Enolase), SCC (Squamous Cell Carcinoma Antigen), CYFRA 21-1, CA-50.
  • The Molecular Genetics Department offers a wide array of specialized genetic and molecular diagnostic tests including: Genetic Testing for Inherited Disorders, Comprehensive analysis of hereditary conditions, full testing for thrombophilia mutations. Also it offers various infectious disease molecular diagnostics including: Hepatitis Testing (both qualitative and quantitative analysis of viral hepatitis), HIV Detection, H1N1 Influenza Virus, SARS-CoV-2 (COVID-19).
  • The Fertility Testing Department offers comprehensive bloodwork and diagnostic services to support clinical evaluation, pregnancy preparation, and monitoring. Key services include: Blood tests to ensure a healthy pregnancy, Thrombophilia Testing, Cystic Fibrosis Mutation Screening. Also it includes fertility markers such as Anti-Müllerian Hormone (AMH) for women and Semen Analysis (Spermiogram) for men that evaluates male fertility.
  • The Allergy Department covers the full spectrum of allergens, including environmental, food, and inhalant allergens. The quantitative assessment provides precise measurements of allergy levels, offering a clear and detailed picture of the patient's allergic sensitivities. This is essential for guiding the clinical doctor in selecting the most appropriate treatment.
