DEPARTMENTS AND SERVICES

Medical Doctors Radiologists: Marsia Karakoulia, Panagiotis Nempotakis

The Radiology Department of Poseidoneio Medical Diagnosic Center uses a state-of-the-art digital radiology system which offers low radiation exposure and high-definition imaging. This technology improves diagnostic accuracy while minimizing the risks associated with radiation.

Also it is equipped with a Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS) for the storage and retrieval of digital radiographs and ultrasound images. This system allows for efficient management of digital images and the ability to print older digital records when needed.

DIGITAL RADIOGRAPHY
  • The Digital Radiography is rapidly replacing traditional film-based methods, offering advantages like reduced radiation doses and fewer retakes.
  • Results are typically available Ultrasound Department at Poseidoneio Diagnostic medical Center is equipped with modern ultrasound systems, offering comprehensive imaging for a wide range of body organs. Organ Ultrasound:

     Veins
     Thyroid Gland
Abdomen (Upper and Lower) examining organs like the liver, spleen, gallbladder, and intestines.
     Scrotum
     Kidney Arteries
     Abdominal Aorta and Iliac Arteries
     Splenic-Pulmonary Axis
     Transvaginal Ultrasound

Color Doppler Ultrasound / Triplex: This advanced ultrasound technique combines morphological imaging of blood vessels with dynamic imaging, recording and analyzing blood flow within them. It's crucial for detecting vascular issues such as blockages, blood clots, or aneurysms.

  • Elastography is a simplequicknon-invasive method with a distinguishing between benign and malignant tissues. The principle behind elastography is that benign tissue is generally more elastic than malignant tissue. This difference in elasticity is measured and visualized through the ultrasound, allowing for better differentiation between benign and malignant lesions.

Elastography significantly reduces the need for invasive procedures, such as biopsies, by providing a reliable and accurate diagnosis. Applications:

     Liver
     Breasts
     Thyroid Gland

  • Bone Density Measurement

    • Is a high-precision test used for the diagnosis of osteopenia (low bone mass) and osteoporosis (bone thinning).
    • Results are typically available on the same day and provide a clear indication of bone health, allowing for timely interventions if needed.
  • - Cephalometric X-ray

    • The - is a specialized lateral radiograph of the head, commonly used in orthodontics and dentistry. It provides valuable information for planning orthodontic treatments and assessing the skeletal structure.

The X-ray can also provide insights into other areas of the head, such as the oral cavity, sinuses, and upper and lower jaws.

    • Results are available on the same day in both film and CD format.

    -Panoramic X-ray

    • The panoramic X-ray  is a fundamental diagnostic tool for dentists. It provides a wide view of the lower part of the face, displaying essential structures like the teeth, wisdom teeth, sinuses, temporomandibular joint (TMJ), and the jawbones.
    • Results are available on the same day in both film and CD format.

    -CBCT  (Cone Beam Computed Tomography)

At Poseidoneio Medical Diagnostic Center, in addition to panoramic and cephalometric X-rays,  CBCT  is used for 3D imaging. This advanced technology utilizes the AUTO FOCUS system from Sirona Orthophos S models, with a diameter of 11 cm and a height of 10cm.

The scientific director of the Cone Beam Imaging Department is :

Dr. Elli Katsoni, DDS, MSc in Oral Diagnostics and Radiology.
